Mindfulness Resources

The mindfulness recordings below were developed for the use of clients already involved in our programs. They should be used with caution out of the context of formal therapeutic supports.

This is an introduction for older children and teens on how to follow one's breath when meditating. It is not a guided practice per se, as the formal practice would follow this and include an opportunity to attend to one's breath with more periods of silence.

This is the 5 Minute Breathing exercise (close to six minutes) introduced in most of our first mindfulness sessions. It can be used at any time when an individual is feeling stressed or tense where things that have happened throughout the day or worries about the future are preventing effective action in the current moment.

Our days are full of transitions. While we may believe we have successfully stepped out of the past and into the current moment, most of us will carry a bit of each previous moments baggage into the current one. We may also find ourselves being pulled into the future, which can be an anxiety provoking place full of worries and other stressors. This mindfulness practice was designed to help our teenage clients move move smoothly from the classroom to the home.
